“Maybe there are differences between us -socioeconomic, political, racial- but that doesn’t mean we cannot connect, human to human, friend to friend.” -Ruth Jefferson, Small Great Things Title: Small Great Things Author: Jodi Picoult Publisher: Ballantine Books Genres: Contemporary Fiction, (General) Adult Number … Continue reading
I am not from the U.S. but I’m joining in the bandwagon of the #NationalBookLoversDay hashtag with some tribute photos to my favorite authors. ❤ Jodi Picoult is one of the writers who has influenced my writing big time. She still … Continue reading
I woke up today with my favorite writer Jodi Picoult announcing that shine, the prologue to her main novel this year is now up for preorder, and is slated for a 13 September 2016 release, while Small Great Things is due to come out on 11 October 2016.
My third favorite writer Gayle Forman, on the other hand, will release Leave Me on 06 September 2016. ❤
The rest of my favorites have already released their novels for the year, so I’m just waiting for these two to release theirs to complete my year. In the meantime, I still have to get on with my to-be-read pile ’cause I hate it when they pile up.
Also, one of my biggest influences in the music biz, Utada Hikaru, has announced that the title of her upcoming album is The U Testament. I am all kinds of happy and excited for the Queen’s comeback as a lot of things have happened already -Hikki’s mom’s suicide, her marriage, the birth of her first kid *gasp omg she’s a mommy now legit*-, so it’s a bit of a letdown when it was announced that there will be no promotions for the album. I’m not asking for a live tour like in the good old days, but an Utada United 2006-like live would be a great treat for the fans who have been waiting for her for like eight years. Still, whatever happens, naka-preorder nako. *courtesy of Ate Krystle bcause maxed out cc, lol*. Haha. Love you, Hikki, forevs.
I admit; I wasn’t very excited with my birthday this year. I’ve got piles of things to do, my schedule’s all mixed up, and it’s coupled with all other concerns.
But life really has a way of surprising you. So I can’t help but thank God each and every day for all the blessings in my life; most especially for the family that I’ve been born in and all the people I made friends with in my 22 years of existence. 🙂
Photo credits to Kuya Tim and Ate Tricia. Sensei and friends from Nihongo Center Foundation surprised me with this cake, and the (i)HOP gift. Haha. Thanks, guys!
I am a blessed kid for having been born in this family. The couple right up there is the reason why I’m even in this world and enjoying the heck of it.
There are two things that have shaped who I am tremendously — UP and Fandom. I think it was my first time to spend my birthday in a convention with fandom friends. Moreover, I also got to be with my UPIS friends and UPB housemates during dinner. Yay!
Bought these from the Manila International Book Fair as presents for myself. A big thank you to the store owners for the birthday discounts and freebies!
Every year just keeps getting better and better. Thank you, God, for this life and all the amazing people I’ve met along the way. 🙂
