[J-Rock] Ongaku Friday: UVERworld

Here’s my latest entry for Anime HQ’s Ongaku Friday. ‘Cause once upon a time, UVERworld used to be up there, along with L’Arc~en~Ciel and Alice Nine. as one of my favorite J-Rock bands. Kimi no Suki na Uta did it for me. It had been fun, UVERworld. More power!

Ongaku Friday now brings you UVERworld!

First formed in 2003, and later on debuting under a major label in 2005, UVERworld, since then, has become one of the most popular rock bands in Japan.

The band’s popularity is attributed to its contributions in various anime series, such as with their debut single, “D-technolife”, which was the second anime theme song of Bleach. Their follow-up single “Chance!” was then used as the theme song of the PSP game “Bleach: Heat the Soul.” Other singles used as soundtracks include: “Colors of the Heart” for Blood+, “endscape” for Toward the Terra, “Gekido/Just Break the Limit!” for D. Gray-man, and “Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi” for Gundam 00.

UVERworld is comprised by: Takuya (vocals), Katsuya (rhythm guitar), Akira (lead guitar), Nobuto (bass), Shintaro (drums).
